Nuvia expands at Birchwood Park Warrington

MEPC Birchwood Park is delighted to began 2010 on a high with the expansion of one of our longest standing occupiers, Nuvia, to double its space to 35,000 sq ft.

The deal beats our biggest of last year, when in one of Warrington’s biggest deals of 2009 we attracted National Nuclear Laboratory from Hinton House. Together, these two deals represent a major coup for the Park not only in lettings terms but in establishing our position as the region’s nuclear industries hub.

Nuclear service provider Nuvia’s larger premises will initially accommodate its growing engineering design and consultancy teams, which service the firm’s burgeoning project portfolio.

In 2011, it is the intention that their MEPC Birchwood Park office will also accommodate Nuvia’s headquarters and main engineering and consultancy divisions, as they relocate from other parts of Risley increasing the number of Nuvia staff based at the park from its current level of 200 to 350.

Nuvia has been based at MEPC Birchwood Park since 2001, relocating from Darwin House to Chadwick House in 2006.

Said Nuvia’s head of corporate services, John Oram: “MEPC Birchwood Park is at the heart of the UK’s nuclear industry.

“It’s a particular hub for the engineering design and consultancy areas, and this is important for us as we are constantly seeking design engineers, project managers and consultants to support our growing portfolio.

“We’re very pleased to be able to expand our presence at the park, and look forward to consolidating all Risley staff at this location in the coming years.”

Added Nuvia’s property and facilities manager, Jenny Dorn: “MEPC Birchwood Park provides excellent accommodation and facilities at reasonable rates. It is a delightful environment in which to work, with recent improvements including the Ramada Encore hotel.”

Said MEPC Birchwood Park managing director, Jonathan Walsh: “This is a great start to the year, and one which underlines our increasingly significant role in the tremendously important nuclear industry.”
